If there's anyone more miserly than Mr Scrooge on Christmas then it's The Grinch. In XmasGiftChase, there are multiple grinches who are hell-bent on stealing Christmas - and it's your job to stop them.
XmasGiftChase sees you play the role of Santa, who must collect up all the presents scattered around the field while dodging the snowballs being thrown by the grinches. If you get hit by a snowball you lose some energy. Lose enough energy and you'll lose a life.
The graphics in XmasGiftChase are fairly weak, even for a Java-based game. The detail on the characters is so small that it's very difficult to make out, and the animation is slow and jerky.
In terms of gameplay, XmasGiftChase provides a bit of fun for a while, and the bonus levels, which involve running around and hitting as many grinches as possible before the time runs out, are entertaining. However, the game soon becomes repetitive and quite boring.
It's worth pointing out that XmasGiftChase is supported by ads downloaded from the Net, so I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone who pays for their data.
As Christmas games go, XmasGiftChase is a bit of a turkey.
